Skills and Education – Essential
• Veterinary Degree recognised by RCVS and Veterinary Council of Ireland
• Minimum of two years’ experience working with large animals
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with customers, colleagues and regulatory bodies
• Proficient in the use of IT systems and data analysis
• Clean driving licence
Skills and Education – Desirable
• Post graduate qualification in cattle health / production – eg. Cert AVP, DBR, etc.
• Experience working in a commercial environment
• Experience in cattle artificial insemination and embryo transfer
• Competent in use of ultra-sonic scanning
• Previous experience in delivering talks / presentations to farmer groups
• Familiarity with export systems such as Traces NT and DECOL

Fenaghy Veterinary Clinic are on the lookout for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their team! The successful candidate will be competent in all routine surgeries. Consultations will be 15 minutes. The role will involve working at both clinics in Ballymena and Antrim.
Our standard full-time rota will include working 4 days per week between the hours of 8:30am- 7:00pm. There will be 1:7 weekends with Saturdays 9:00am-5:00pm and Sundays 9:00am-12:00 noon in Ballymena and there is no out of hours requirement. As mentioned, we are happy to discuss what works for you!
We have excellent facilities including digital x-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, TPLO kit and we would be happy to get more specialist equipment if you have an interest you want to develop as we have a focus on clinical excellence and client care.
We have a team of 7 Vets, 14 Nurses, 6 Receptionists, 1 Practice Manager alongside our visiting specialist Ophthalmologist. Our current certificates are advanced in small animal medicine, Dermatology, Exotics and Orthopaedic TPLO surgery. Certificates are not compulsory but supported.
