Speaker: Tommy Heffernan MVB Gradcert DHH.
Tommy Heffernan MVB Grad Cert DHH is a veterinary consultant based in Co. Wicklow. Tommy qualified from the vet college in UCD in 2002 and went on to complete a grad cert in small animal internal medicine in 2004. He was practice principal in Avondale Veterinary Clinic from 2006-2016 a six vet mixed practice. He is a master cow signals trainer, has a cert in dairy herd health, and completed an international Nuffield farming scholarship in 2018. He also worked for 16 months as an animal health specialist with the Irish Farmers Journal. He now works as a private consultant in education with vets and industry. Tommy works both nationally and internationally. His personal interests are the future of food production, the psychology behind achieving better animal health, utilizing microbes, and the science of the microbiome.
