NIVA & AVSPNI Joint Autumn Cardiology Meeting – A great success!

October 24, 2019 By Ashley-VetNI

With such highly sought after speakers as Adrian Boswood and Dan Brockman, how could it be anything but a success! A good turnout of vets from all over Northern Ireland came along to hear the two presentations. They also had the opportunity to take part in some practical human CPR training on the day too.

This event also saw the AVSPNI charity draw come to a close with Michael Woodside from Clare Vets winning the HeartSine defibrillator which was very kindly donated by HeartSine. All funds have been raised in aid of Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke and the Freeman Heart and Lung Transplant Association.

AVSPNI & NIVA would like to thank the principle sponsor Boehringer Ingelheim as well as CEVA and IMV who also supported this event.

Change to notification period on DECOL for exporting animals and animal products from Northern Ireland

September 19, 2019 By Ashley-VetNI

From Wednesday 18th September 2019 all exporters will be required to provide a minimum of 1 full working days’ notice of the intended date of dispatch of the consignment from the dispatching premises.   In practice, this will mean restrictions on the future dates available when submitting your application.

For example, for applications made on Wednesday 4th September, the first available export date will be Friday 6th September. For applications made on Thursday 5th September, the first available export date will be Monday 9th September.

Applications will be accepted up until 11.59 pm on the date of application. Please note that the date of export currently required in step 1 of the DECOL application process is regarded as the date of loading and dispatch from the final premises of production and/or storage. It is not the date of shipment from a port in Northern Ireland. Thank you for your cooperation in compliance with these changes.
