Due to an expanding case load we are a looking for a 6th dedicated farm vet to join our young team.
Located in Co. Antrim the practice is only 30 mins away from the coast and Belfast city. With Belfast international airport a 25 minute drive away also.
Currently the practice has a 75% dairy 25% sheep and beef split, with a good variety of pedigree and commercial units. Due to the progressive nature of our work regular herd health and fertility visits alongside in-depth disease investigations play an integral role in our day to day work, applicants must be eager to complete this type of preventative work to a high standard to help support our friendly and forward thinking farmers improve their overall herd health. All emergency work and TB testing is shared equally.
CPD is funded and any area of expertise or advanced certifications will be encouraged and supported.

We are a friendly independent practice situated in Armagh that has an opportunity for a small animal vet to join our team.

The successful candidate will ideally be able to work full-time hours which can either be a 4 or 4.5 day week with just a 1:4 Saturday morning rota. However, part-time hours or job share applications will also be considered.

Due to retirement, Clare Vets are on the lookout for a passionate and dedicated Mixed Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly, supportive, and growing team!
As a well-established mixed practice, we offer our own 24/7 care, on site, to small, large, and equine patients – roughly equating to 65% small animal, 30% large animal and 5% equine.
Our small animal patients range from dogs and cats to rabbits, small furries, and even some exotics.
Large animal is a good mixture of dairy and beef alongside some sheep and equine work.
As a mixed veterinary surgeon with Clare Vets, the type and amount of work will vary depending on the season. Roughly, you will spend around two thirds of your time with small animals and the remainder on farm, with a smaller amount of equine work.
In the small animal part of this role, you’ll spend around two thirds of your time in consultations, building strong relationships with our clients and their pets, while the remaining third will be surgery and case work ups.
As a busy hospital, we see a wide range of procedures, from routine neutering and dentals to more advanced soft tissue surgeries, BOAS procedures, TECA, and minor orthopaedics. Our large animal work is generally obstetrics, RDAs and LDAs.
Full time working 40 hours a week; however, part time would be considered for the right candidate. 1 in 4 weekends and one set night on call each week – alternating with first on duty one week and standby the following – with time off in lieu for weekends and on call.
